About the Learning Session
Building the capacity to be present, even under pressure, begins with learning to focus your attention at will. In this session, Amanda will guide you to focus your attention and energy on different parts of your body which is one of the many applications of Chi Gong. This is a relaxing way to develop the capacity to first become present in your body, which is a prerequisite to connecting, listening to others, and being relaxed under pressure.
Amanda Stradling is a Master Tai Chi instructor and a 3rd-degree black belt in Kenpo. She believes that love is the most powerful intention and she has used this intention to teach martial arts, women’s self-defense classes, elementary school, and since 2018, embodied leadership.
Meet the Facilitator
Amanda Stradling is Sr. Associate and co-creator of East Valley Leader Lab. Amanda discovered the power of embodiment at an early age. Growing up with asthma, and often treated as “the sickly child,” she took Tai Chi in junior high to get out of regular gym class. To her surprise, practicing martial arts opened her up to possibilities she had thought would be out of reach. Now in addition to having taught Tai Chi and related arts for 19 years, she is an active mother of two, runs marathons, and is a third degree black belt in Kenpo Karate.
